Seven Experience Paths for Children

In all towns of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, experience and educational paths await where children can playfully explore nature—from the water path at Gaisbach to the enchanted forest at Grubigstein. All paths are free to access.

  • Water Experience Path 'Zugspitzi at Gaisbach'Ehrwald · starting from the base station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn · 3 km · approximately 1 hour (2–2.5 hours with playtime)A circular path at Gaisbach with spots for playing, splashing, and resting. Along the way, children collect eight hidden numbers for a treasure code. Not fully accessible for strollers.
  • Moosle’s Explorer PathLermoos · from the middle station of the Grubigsteinbahn down to the valley · approximately 2.5 km · about 1–1.5 hoursSeven explorer stations around plants and animals at Grubigstein—answers form a quiz. The path leads downhill and is not stroller-friendly.
  • Moosle’s Enchanted ForestLermoos · starting from the base station of the Grubigsteinbahn · 4 km · approximately 1:20 hoursThe little goblin Moosle guides you through a fairy-tale forest with nine play and activity stations. From letters and numbers, a solution emerges that leads to a small surprise.
  • Beaver PathBiberwier · starting from the village park · 3.6 km circular route · about 2 hours with stations · stroller-friendlyA little beaver shares stories about mining, water, energy, and the ancient Roman road Via Claudia at ten stations. At the coin minting station, you can create your own souvenir.
  • Nature Experience Path MittereggBerwang · starting from the Wechner snack station · 1.7 km · approximately 30 minutes each way · stroller-friendlyWith the eagle Horsti to the wooden ball track, water sounds, grass slide, gold panning station, and water games. Solving the riddle earns you an eagle sticker.
  • Mindfulness Path (new)Heiterwang by the LakeThe new path at Heiterwanger Lake focuses on small impulses for the body and mind—encouraging mindful arrival, breathing, and recharging.
  • Moor Educational PathHeiterwang · 2.5 km circular path · approximately 45 minutes · flat and stroller-friendlyEight information boards explain the plant life of the moor on the way to Heiterwanger Lake.

Tip: The explorer map is available at the tourist offices and along the paths (except for the moor educational path). Return the filled-out map—there's a surprise waiting at the tourist office.

Six Digital Experience Paths

Scan the QR code at the start; the free app guides you via GPS from station to station—with audio guides, videos, mini-games, and puzzles. Completing all stations on a path earns you a badge in the digital collection pass, and you can receive a children's tattoo at the tourist office. Cora, Mia, and Finn are also accessible in winter.

Which experience paths are stroller-friendly?

The Beaver Trail in Biberwier, the Nature Experience Path Mitteregg in Berwang, and the Moor Learning Trail in Heiterwang are all stroller-friendly, along with several digital experience paths like Cora, Augustus, Finn, and Mia.

Do the experience paths have any costs?

No, all experience paths are free of charge. For Moosle’s Explorer Path, you will need to take the Grubigsteinbahn to the middle station, which incurs a fee for the ascent.

Is there a reward for children?

Yes: Children can receive a surprise at the tourism office with their completed explorer card, and on the digital paths, they can collect badges and earn a child tattoo for each path they complete.
