Spend the best time of the year in the mountains – at our house “Julia”.
Our house is located on a quiet, sunny hillside at the foot of the Zugspitze, above the village, with panoramic views over Ehrwald, Lermoos and Biberwier. The wonderful location invites you to take long walks and hikes in summer and winter; in winter the Wetterstein ski lifts are only a few metres away. The stop of the free local bus – which takes you to other ski areas and leisure facilities (e.g. ice stadium, indoor pool) at any time – is right nearby.

From a village of timber merchants to a Zugspitze destination

Ehrwald is first documented in 1274. Unlike most places in the Außerfern region, the first settlers arrived not from the Allgäu, but over the Fern Pass from the Imst area. For centuries, the locals sustained themselves through mining and timber trade for the saltworks in Hall. With the arrival of the first summer visitors and the opening of the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn in 1926, the village transformed into a vacation spot for both summer and winter.
The origin of the name: Its exact origin is not entirely clear: it is interpreted as "beginning of the forest," "old forest," or, due to the presence of ore deposits, as "ore forest."

Slopes for all skill levels around the Ehrwalder Alm – snow-sure up to nearly 3,000 m on the Zugspitze.

Well-groomed tracks, including the snow-covered golf course loop (3.8 km, of which approximately 2.7 km is snow-covered).

Many cleared hiking trails ensure relaxation even in winter.

Toboggan evenings on the Ehrwalder Alm bring joy for young and old.
Ice skating & curling
Ice rink with public skating, curling, and exciting ice hockey games.
Indoor tennis & climbing
Experience tennis in the most beautiful hall in Tyrol. On the specialized surface "Bross Slide," you can play gently on your joints and muscles, just like on the best clay courts. Reservations can be made at 05673 21193 – racket and ball rental available.
The Ehrwald tennis hall also features a climbing gym with bouldering area.
