Reach for the skies
Take the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn from Ehrwald to Germany's highest peak. At the top, you'll find a panoramic summit restaurant, the Zugspitz Experience Museum, and a view spanning four countries – the ridge marks the border between Austria and Germany.
The Lermoos local mountain is a summer paradise for hikers and mountain bikers, offering direct views of the Zugspitz massif.
The Biberwier local mountain serves as a starting point for hikes towards the Fernpass lakes and the Mieminger chain.
Water & mountain lakes
Spanning approximately 6.5 hectares and nestled in a mountain bowl of the Mieminger chain – accessible via the Ehrwalder Alm. One of Tyrol's most popular photo spots.
Blindsee, Weißensee, and Mittersee shimmer in turquoise and emerald green. The Blindsee can be circled on a short walk, while the Weißensee is located right by Biberwier.

The most convenient way is via the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn, whose valley station is located in Ehrwald. At the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic restaurant and the Zugspitz Experience Museum.
Directly at the Fernpass, you can find Blindsee, Weißensee, and Mittersee. A bit further away are the Heiterwanger See and the Seebensee above Ehrwald.
The climbing hall EhrWALLd in Ehrwald, the Zugspitz Experience Museum at the summit, or a visit to the animals at the Arche Alm in Lermoos are great ideas for rainy days.
