Der Trueferhof & Das Hof Chalet
A warm “Grüß Gott” from the Somweber family – in one of the most beautiful spots in Ehrwald, surrounded by forests and meadows.
The Trueferhof lies on the sunny side of the Zugspitze, undisturbed in the midst of nature and yet only a few minutes' walk from the village centre. A special feature is the farm's own vineyard at over 1,000 m above sea level – according to the Somweber family the highest vineyard in Austria. During guided tastings you can discover wines such as the award-winning “Elevation 1101”.
You can choose from several accommodations – from apartments with a private spa area to the historic farmhouse. Couples, families and friends will find the right home for relaxing and active days in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.
The accommodations

History · Ehrwald
From a village of timber merchants to a Zugspitze destination
1274first mention
994 melevation
around 2,600inhabitants
Ehrwald is first documented in 1274. Unlike most places in the Außerfern region, the first settlers arrived not from the Allgäu, but over the Fern Pass from the Imst area. For centuries, the locals sustained themselves through mining and timber trade for the saltworks in Hall. With the arrival of the first summer visitors and the opening of the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn in 1926, the village transformed into a vacation spot for both summer and winter.
The origin of the name: Its exact origin is not entirely clear: it is interpreted as "beginning of the forest," "old forest," or, due to the presence of ore deposits, as "ore forest."
An extensive range of slopes and diverse winter activities – fun for the whole family.
Alpine skiing
